Luis Suarez Needs To Stop Playing The Victim But The Media Aren’t Perfect Either

Luis SuarezLuis Suarez has done it again. The man the British media love to hate has once again given them more rope to hang him with. In a recent interview with a Uruguayan radio station, he blamed the media for hounding him and making his life a living hell while also stating that he wouldn’t mind leaving Liverpool, admitting it would be hard to turn down an offer from Real Madrid.

Speaking to Sport 890 AM, Suarez said, “Liverpool want me to stay, but it would be difficult to say no to Real Madrid.

I talked to my agent and there’s nothing concrete yet.

I want to make it clear that to Real Madrid it’s hard to say no. I can only have words of gratitude for the club, the fans, and the people of Liverpool. I love, I love to be in Liverpool, I am happy in Liverpool.

I have a family who are also suffering and it has gone beyond the limit. I am not prepared to keep on putting up with the English journalists. I have fought too hard since I was a child to get to where I am to let some journalists batter me in an unfair way. Continue reading

Why Liverpool should sell Luis Suarez this summer

Luis SuarezHe scored 23 goals for a Liverpool team in transition last season and a further seven in other competitions. There is no doubt Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has justified his hefty price tag following his move from Ajax but for all his talent, his actions in England have also attracted controversy.

Suarez has already said now is a good time for a change and after criticising the English media, it is a good time for Liverpool to cash in on their leading marksman.

The club insist he is not for sale but if he is unsettled, Liverpool should sell him now especially if he wants to leave.

Suarez has not spoken kindly of the English media and a move abroad would mean there would be less attention from England on him. He might also feel more respected by foreign media outlets. Having said that, he is responsible for his actions like anyone else is.

By biting opponents, diving and being charged with racist conduct, he has bought a lot of the coverage on himself. For example, his refusal to shake Patrice Evra‘s hand following the racism row attracted tabloid attention in England. Continue reading

What next for Chelsea’s youth?

Five of those were all out on loan spells with other clubs which has aided their development significantly.

Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian trequartista signed for Chelsea on the 31st of January 2012, but was loaned straight back to Racing Genk for the remainder of the season.

The season that has just gone, De Bruyne enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at the underachieving, Werder Bremen.

De Bruyne can hold his head high after the 2012-13 season. Contributing with 10 goals and 9 assists, the Belgian startlet was a key figure for Werder Bremen and instrumental for them avoiding the drop in the Bundesliga. De Bruyne is a supposedly considering his future at the Blues since he has yet to make a competitive appearance. With Dortmund and Leverkusen both interested, De Bruyne could make his stay in Germany permanent. Continue reading
